Advanced professional development credits include the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture Leadership Institute. ALVAN COLÓN LESPIER, Associate Artistic Director - He is seasoned stage director and technical producer with 30 years experience. His numerous credits include ¡Ay, Jesús! Oh, Jesus!, La Otra Orilla, and Los ángeles se han fatigado. He is recipient of a 2006 Ford Visionaries Fellowship and is now developing a new theatrical adaptation of The Book of Job. JAMES FIGUEROA, Financial Manager - He holds a Masters Degree in Business Management and has been with Pregones Theater since 1991. With more than twenty years of experience in the for-profit and non-profit sectors, his reputation and expertise are built on a longstanding commitment to work with Latino theater organizations in New York City. MAGALIE GONZÁLEZ, General Manager - An arts manager of Dominican background, she studied at Lehman College-CUNY. Advanced professional development credits include the NYU School of Continuing Education, Alliance of NYS Arts Organizations, National Association of Latino Arts and Culture, and the Hispanic Federation Leadership Certification Program. DESMAR GUEVARA, Resident Composer & Musical Director - He brings a unique take on Jazz and Afro Puerto Rican rhythms to Pregones’ musical theater repertory. Music credits include Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Tito Nieves, Andy Montañez, and José Alberto “El Canario”, among others. He is founder and director of genre-busting jazz enseble Taller Sicá. ARNALDO J. LÓPEZ, Development Officer - A manager with first-hand knowledge of the arts field and a Ph.D. in Latin/o American literatures. His professional background includes 10 years in letterpress and graphic design, 5 years of college-level teaching, and multiple arts documentation projects. He has worked with both individual artists and nonprofit arts organizations to assess capacity and establish development strategies. JORGE B. MERCED, Associate Artistic Director - A graduate of City College-CUNY and EITALC (Cuba), he also studied at the Alvin Ailey School. Known for his chameleonic ability as a stage actor, his credits include El bolero fue mi ruina, Baile Cangrejero, and ¡Ay, Jesús! Oh, Jesus! His director credits include Pablo García Gámez’s Blanco/White and Suzan-Lori Parks’ 365 Days/365 Plays. JESSICA MOYA, Assistant Technical Producer - A graduate of City College-CUNY, Department of Theater, she is devoted to professional work in the technical theater field. Numerous professional and collegiate credits include Testiculations, Positive Women, A Raisin in the Sun, The Fantasticks, Angels in America, and six Pregones Theater productions. She is a mentee of the TCG New Generations/Future Leaders program. ROSALBA ROLÓN, Artistic Director - A seasoned performer, dramaturg, and stage director, she is know for nurturing the development of a distinctly Latino musical theater. Recent credits include El Apagón/The Blackout, El último rosario de Medea (starring Lupita Ferrer), Betsy (with Roadside Theater), and The Beep. She is recipient of a 2006 Ford Visionaries Fellowship and is now working on an international arts project that links seven countries. MANNY VEGA, Muralist - This Bronx native and honorary pregonero is an accomplished painter, sculptor, musician, and scholar. He works in a wide variety of media including painting, printmaking, murals, graphics, set and costume design, and ritual beadwork. His credits include the Guggenheim Museum, El Museo del Barrio, the Hood Museum (Dartmouth), Marefunfun (Cuba), the Fowler Museum (UCLA), and the Bronx Museum.
